the lab returns

Dear all

The below programme is intended to keep you in the loop with regards to the LAB and its future. After winding down in July and having had a summer break we are ready to kick things off again with a bit of a new look. We hope you are able to join us again as we seek to become a missional community of young adults here in Newport. We had very much hoped to move out of our church venue into a pub venue on a weekly basis. After much thought and prayer we feel we need to put our roots down a bit further before such a move; although we will experiment with a couple of pub sessions before Christmas. Nooma is a discipleship dvd series that we believe will help prepare us to engage with our world, telling and living the good news. Each Lab at St. Paul’s will continue to make praise and worship a priority and the celebration times we give us an extended opportunity for this!

Do email me or ring me on 842317 if you want to chat about the LAB. Thanks again for your continued support and interest.

On behalf of the team
Justin

The summer holidays

Just a note to say that our informal worship times on Sundays are finishing a week early. We are breaking up for the summer after this Sunday. (NO LAB ON SUNDAY 25TH -SORRY) So get yourselves along tomorrow as we look at Jesus the meal-time messiah and enjoy a chocolate fondue together. Phil will be jetting back from Hong Kong to lead us in our last time of worship before we kick off again in September. September hopefully will see us in our new venue....more about that soon.

Lab with Charlie

Just a reminder that my brother, Charlie is coming tomorrow to the Lab to lead our worship. Charlie has been leading worship for years and years, starting out at HTB in London and then at a fast growing church plant in Cape Town. He has enormous experience and great sensitivity to the Holy Spirit - DON'T MISS IT! (5.30 at st. paul's)

As of September we are planning to meet on a Sunday but in a pub! One of our key values at the Lab as we have sought to build a missional community (primarily targetting 18-30's) has been infiltration and not just invitation and we believe this move of venue is part of being true to that calling.

As well as having some great worship tomorrow night we will be doing a short bible study and thinking ahead to September. We started with a team of four of us at the beginning of the year and now we have what I would call a missional network of young adults - there were about thirty of us at Heroes bar/lounge last Sunday. Now we are looking to move from a missional network to a missional community.

see you tomorrow!

No Lab this Sunday but I am going to Bethel Community for their event explosion aimed at young adults over 16 - all welcome.
Things coming together nicely for Heroes 2 on June 4th...good music, great visuals and inspiring guest speaker.
